Robert (Bob) H. Berger earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Oregon and became a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in 1983.

Bob began his career in 1980 as an in-charge accountant and quickly advanced in the profession. In 1987, he partnered with A.J. Freed to establish Freed & Berger CPAs, LLC. A decade later, in 1997, he co-founded Berger & O'Toole CPAs with Dennis O'Toole, continuing his dedication to client-focused accounting services. In January 2019, following a strategic merger with Boyle, Hess & Elliott CPAs, LLC, Bob became the managing member of the newly formed Berger, Elliott & Pritchard CPAs, L.L.C.

With over four decades of experience, Bob specializes in tax accounting, serving a broad base of individuals, small businesses, trusts, partnerships, and nonprofit organizations. He also provides attest services including audits, compilations, and reviews, with a particular emphasis on tax planning and wealth management.

Bob is a member of the Nebraska Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).

When he's not in the office, Bob enjoys spending quality time with his family—especially his new grandson. He’s also an avid boater in Okoboji, a golf enthusiast, and a dedicated Husker football fan.

Joseph (Joe) J. Pritchard earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Nebraska Wesleyan University and became a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in 2014.

Joe began his accounting career in 2012 as a staff accountant with Berger & O'Toole CPAs, LLC. In 2015, he launched a new branch of the firm in his hometown of Spalding, Nebraska, reflecting his commitment to rural communities and client accessibility. Following the 2019 merger with Boyle, Hess & Elliott CPAs, LLC, Joe became a partner in the newly established Berger, Elliott & Pritchard CPAs, L.L.C.

Joe specializes in tax accounting and serves a wide array of clients, including agricultural operations, individuals, small businesses, trusts, partnerships, and non-profit organizations. In addition to tax services, he also provides attest services, including audits, compilations, and reviews. 

He is an active member of both the Nebraska Society of Certified Public Accounts and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). 

In addition to his professional role, Joe stays grounded in rural roots, working on his family farm, and serving as a volunteer firefighter. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife, son, and daughter, and is an avid supporter of Husker football and St. Louis Cardinals.


Elizabeth D. Tritsch, CPA, MBA

Elizabeth (Liz) D. Tritsch holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with majors in economics and finance from the University of Nebraska–Omaha and earned her Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Finance. She obtained her Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license in 1998.

Liz began her career in private industry as a corporate cash manager, before transitioning to public accounting in 1995 when she joined Boyle, Hess & Elliott CPAs, LLC. Following the 2019 merger of Boyle, Hess & Elliott with Berger & O'Toole CPAs to form Berger, Elliott & Pritchard CPAs, L.L.C., Liz served as Senior Manager until her promotion to Partner in July 2022.

Liz specializes in tax accounting, working with a wide range of clients including individuals, small businesses, trusts, partnerships, and nonprofit organizations. Her expertise also includes estate, financial, and retirement planning, providing clients with comprehensive strategies to achieve their long-term goals.

She is an active member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Nebraska Society of CPAs.

Outside of her professional work, Liz pursues her passion for history and design by scouring local and international markets for antique jewelry and early 20th-century Danish silver.


Michael J. Vinal

Michael (Mike) J. Vinal, a native to Omaha, Nebraska, holds a Master of Science in Accounting from the University of Wyoming and is currently pursuing his Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license. He transitioned into public accounting in 2016 after a successful tenure in retail management. He joined Berger, Elliott & Pritchard CPAs, L.L.C. as a Tax Manager in August 2022, and in recognition of his leadership and expertise, was promoted to Partner in July 2025.

Mike provides customized accounting solutions with a focus on tax, audit, review, compilation and bookkeeping services. He serves a diverse client base including individuals, business, trusts, estates and nonprofit organizations. 

Committed to professional growth and regulatory compliance, Mike spearheads peer training initiatives to uphold firm-wide adherence to federal and state standards. In addition to mentoring new staff on tax and attest procedures, he contributes to the development and implementation of internal training programs. 

Outside of work, Mike enjoys spending quality time with his wife and two children. His interests include fishing, culinary arts, collecting memorabilia from the 1980s and 1990s, and he is an avid movie enthusiast. He is also actively engaged in his church and local community. 


Justin R. Fitchner, CPA

Justin R. Fitchner earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Wayne State College and became a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in 2016.

Justin began his accounting career in 2013 as a staff accountant at a Credit Union. In 2015, he joined Berger & O’Toole CPAs, LLC, where he steadily advanced in responsibility and experience. Following the 2019 merger with Boyle, Hess & Elliott CPAs, LLC, Justin was promoted to Senior Manager at Berger, Elliott & Pritchard CPAs, L.L.C.

He specializes in tax accounting, serving a broad client base that includes individuals, small businesses, trusts, and partnerships. Beyond his client work, Justin has played a significant role in firm operations, developing peer training programs and designing new staff onboarding to support continuous improvement and team growth.

Outside the office, Justin enjoys traveling and spending time with his wife, and is an enthusiastic supporter of Nebraska Cornhusker sports. He also brings fun and camaraderie to the firm by organizing the office’s Fantasy Football and March Madness leagues.

With profound respect, we honor the life and legacy of John S. Elliott, CPA, CVA — a distinguished professional and cherished colleague.

John earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, majoring in Accounting, from Creighton University in 1969. He obtained his Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation in 1981 and later became a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA). 

In 1985, John joined Boyle, Hess & Elliott, CPAs, where his leadership and vision quickly distinguished him. He was named partner in 1989. On January 1, 2019, Boyle, Hess & Elliott, PC merged with Berger and O’Toole, CPAs, L.L.C., forming what is now Berger, Elliott & Pritchard, CPAs, L.L.C.

John will be remembered not only for his professional achievements, but also for his kindness, wisdom, and humility. He leaves behind a remarkable legacy one that will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing and working with him.
